Point well taken and agreed, especially on male warriors - those really have "cliche" written on their broad foreheads.

I would just like to be able to customize it more. Like Morrowind with 50 face mods installed or like the screenshots of EA Sports games (*ducks for cover*) I have seen where you can adjust every facial feature.

Granted, I'd probably still build the next supermodel since I look at my guild wars char for god knows how many hours and it better be neat and somehow I think so would 80% of the GW playing population.

And I just thought wasting players money is the whole point of a money sink that serves no other purpose but looking different

Well, what I've gathered from elsewhere (including snippets apparently from the CGW article itself) -- the PvP story line mode (aka PvE mode) missions are not optional, but just more missions (think any of those in the game already -- such as Defend the Wall).

If it comes out as it seems, Guild Wars is no longer PvE-friendly, forcing us to play against (or with other players not joined to our party) other people. This opens up the opportunity for griefing; the lack of which was the deciding factor in my trying out Guild Wars. (As a casual player, griefing destroys any fun gained during my very limited time available to play). I can just see groups of people continually playing in the PvP story mission with the sole intent of keeping others from progressing; or in the coperative ones solely with the goal of not cooperating and thus preventing others from progressing.

I pray it does not come out this way. It's aggravating enough as it is that when I set aside time to do certain quests and log in to do them, I can't because my 'nation' doesn't have favor. Guild Wars, more than any of its audiences, seemed to target the non-obsessive players; those who weren't teenagers able to devote their entire life to playing the game but those who play more casually.

Talking about griefing, I wonder if the existing, completely deadlocking grief opportunities are going to be addressed. Like, the people zoning back and forth to make play impossible, and the ones picking up a quest item and just standing there teasing or blackmailing the party.

I will NEVER consider my FoW armor a huge waste. It took me months to save up for it and It's a testament to how much I love this game (also a testament to my neglected social life). I don't care how good the new armors will look. If I want it, I'll save up again.

Sucks to be an FoW ebayer though.

Those are addressable simply through reforming a party without the offenders. I'm grossly concerned about the griefing possible with these PvP story missions which seem to put you randomly against/with other parties, which had no input from you at all in its formation.

Do you have any idea how to solve this, without introducing new possibilities for griefing?

I'm happy to see Anet put some training for PvP. The current Presearing is all PvE with no PvP training whatsoever. Many ppl have complained about that and now Anet apparently gonna have target calling and pulling quests. This will benefit PvEers and PvPers.

I'm always amazed at how there are so many lvl 20s who still don't know how to call a target or how to attack a called target. Yet, they are at lvl 20. It's like, "how did you get this far?"

Hat's off to you Anet. I'm buying.

It's just that everyone who did buy the expansion will have lots more cool stuff than you do
Guild Wars: Factions (aka Chapter 2) is not simply an add-on, it is a stand alone game which can be purchased and played without Chapter 1. But players with both chapters can play both contents seamlessly, that's what I understand from all these information released.

Everything I've read so far looks amazingly awesome -- I'm especially looking forward to the whole Luxon vs Kurzick thing and the two new professions (plus, the Assassin chick is hot). I also want to see a picture of the Ritualist, plz. I understand he's male -- he better be hot, too, 'cause us females want eye-candy too :P.
I agree on more varying looks.
On the note of the assassin being female and the ritualist being male...I think that both professions will have male and female models. It would get boring to see 1000plus female assassins running around and 50 male ritualists once chapter 2 is released.

So basically what im getting is that this new chapter is asian set, so we are going to be fighting basically ninjas. I wonder if the pets are gonna be asian set to such as tigers. Not that tigers would be so great cause they would be the same as a stalker or lynx. Also, I am wondering how the have it set up to get our old toons from Tyria to Cantha? Is the ritualist calss really ganna be worth it, i mean it seems to me hes just gonna be a necro that leaves bodies. Im really not to sure if this is gonna be worth it but i will see when it comes out. I might just be to negative about this, but it just dont seem like its gonna be worth another 50 bucks for the game.

Come on Gaile & Alan....lets post on YOUR website.
I'm so dedicated to this game that this will be the first issue of Computer Gaming World I will have ever bought. LOL. I'm horribly stoked over this expansion, but I thought that ANet mentioned THREE Professions as opposed to two... Oh well, two is better than none and I would like to see more skills than Professions. I'm so going assassin with the next chapter...hella. Can't Wait. I'll even get the collector's edition if one is offered. ^_^;;;

Same...but each store I keep going to still has the January issue, and then I cry the whole drive back home over the gas I wasted in real life for Guild Wars.

Back to the topic of old chars going to the new place...Is it really possible? I see a slight problem. Beggining areas are meant to train the lower levels... Lvl20 W/Mos and N/Mes running havoc in the beggining areas sounds like a pretty stupid idea, I wonder will it be a different start point for old chars and new ones, or wether the old ones will be stuck in Tyria for good.

Id hate to see what would happen to the game economy if the lvl 20s farmed the beggining areas to death.
Ritualist/Mesmer FTW.
